Dear Pastor and Friends,
We are happy that we can write you this prayer letter, thanking you so much for your prayer and financial support, both of which helps us so much. Especially as we get older, we need these two. We have a picture in this letter of us with our 82nd Birthday cake. We thank and praise the Lord He has allowed us to serve Him together to this age. Isaiah 46:4 says, "And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you." This verse has been a great blessing to us.
In our evening devotions together, we have been memorizing Bible verses on prayer. One of them is Ephesians 6:18, "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." We will list the prayers needed and tell you why.
Pray for Pastor Anthony Kalunda
Pray for Pastor Wabanyaka Oshel
Pray for Pastor Kafunga
Pray for Bob
Pray for Jean
The verse says pray always, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching with all perseverance, and supplication for all saints.
1. Pastor Anthony's father just died and his father said before he died, that he'd like a church in his area of Sunuka village in Southwestern Tanzania. He's also been teaching people in the Iringa area from Mafundisha Muhimu ya Biblia, the doctrine book we wrote in Swahili. They want an Independent Baptist Church there and in Dodoma and Bihara, more new areas. Praise God for the spontaneous expansion of the church as the Gospel is preached by the Nationals from what we started and taught them according to Matt. 28:18-20 a number of years ago. Pray for the Lord to help him to do this.
2. Pray for Pastor Oshel in Tanzania, since he still needs to have money to finish building his church. We have been praying that our supporting churches would get a burden to send money to help him finish his church for quite some time now. He says, "Je pesa bado kuja kutoka makanisa?" (Has the money not yet come from the churches?) Pray that the amount of S750.00 will come in so that we can send ft to him to finish his church. He too is quite a soul winner.
3. Pray for Pastor Kafunga in Eastern Congo. He is trying to get the government to approve their Egiise Bapbste Independent du Congo, (Independent Baptist Churches of Congo). These will include Nguo Moja's and Abea's churches. We have known and taught these men since we came to Congo in 1967. Praise the Lord they are carrying on for the Lord.
4. Pray for Bob since recently he had a cortisone injection in his back to stop the pain. Thank the Lord this has helped much. He is able to carry on and has pain medicine if it bothers him again. He does much work that Jean canメt do. We have missionary friends who are going through sorrow and many health problems and we pray for them too.
5. Pray for Jean who recently had serious surgery in her right shoulder. She already had an upside down prosthesis in her shoulder, but after getting terrible pain in it one evening x-rays showed that there was a broken screw and the ball had turned sideways and was sticking up making a lump under the skin in her shoulder. This was major surgery, and the orthopedic surgeon did a wonderful job. It's healing slowly with a small amount of pain now, but she can't raise it above her waist. But she is thankful that she can continue to send emails in Swahili to encourage our African pastors. We use Bible verses to help them with trials they go through. She still has pain from her broken pelvis and cracked right hip and has pain medicine when she needs it. She walks with a walker. After around 30 surgeries,(it's now 35), she wrote
a tract called, "Lord I'm Hurting", and loves to give it to others using walkers, and those in wheel chairs. When they hear about all her surgeries and how the Lord has helped her, they are ready to take it. We pray, and do pray with us, that many
will be saved through this ministry.
Remember to take the verse in Eph.6:18 to heart and pray. God does answer prayer.
Your missionaries, serving Christ until we see Him,
Bob and Jean Williams
