Dear Supporting Friends,
It hardly seems possible that 2008 is nearing its end. We have traveled 25,000 + miles so far on this furlough. It's been great visiting our faithful supporters and seeing familiar faces again! We are encouraged each time someone tells us they have been praying for us. It's because of those prayers that the Lord has blessed our family and our ministry. God has also allowed us to present the needs of Ivory Coast in new churches. We are thankful for a church in South Carolina and another in Florida that have partnered with us. Please pray as we endeavor to make up some support that has been lost as a result of difficult economic times.
We are preparing for the shipment of a 20 ft. container in the spring of 2009. It will be filled with materials to be used for the starting of a new work in Abidjan. We recently received a quarter of a million French tracts from Direct Line Ministry in Ohio. This was a tremendous blessing; these tracts will be instrumental in the lives of many Africans as we seek to win them to Christ. We have also received $1,000 from a supporting church in Orange City, Florida, for shipping and port costs. Please pray that God would provide the remaining $7,000 needed.
After preaching at a church in Georgia, God touched the hearts of 22-year-old Jared and 21-year-old Daisy. They both trusted Christ as their personal Saviour. Also in September, I was able to sit down with Joseph Colas, a 79-year-old Haitian who frequently visits Florida. He comes to stay with his daughter who happens to be a member of our sending church in Jacksonville. He speaks very little English and was not able to understand the message at church. But he listened carefully as I explained the Gospel to him in French. He did not make a decision for Christ, but please pray that God would use the seed sown in his heart. In our experience, it is rare to meet French-speaking people in the United States. That's why I was surprised to be seated next to a Parisian-born lady on a recent flight from Jacksonville to Memphis. For over an hour we conversed in French, and I was able to share how she could be saved. She did not trust Christ, but I pray she will have another opportunity to hear the Word and believe.
We wish you a blessed Christmas. Thank you for the part that you play in reaching people around the world.
Merry Christmas,
Danny Flowers
